Go To Bottom Corporate Driver Safety Programs
The basic problem for Risk Managers of Corporate Fleets is ...they don't know there is a problem! Until there is a problem!
Most companies have not developed an effective risk management program to limit their exposure from fleet liability. Why? It surely is not because they don't want it. It's because they don't have the strategies. In many small businesses, the owner's very survival is in the hands of their unskilled, unprofessional vehicle operators. For big businesses, many of whom self-insure to some degree, these losses come straight off their bottom line! The numbers are huge!
Professor Ray is here to change that. Professor Ray lectures on driver safety, physics, and the ever changing driver characteristics. Professor Ray, not only teaches current students how to drive, he teaches advanced vehicle operators how to become safer professional drivers, and companies and corporations how to decrease their percentage of employee car crashes. Professor Ray has done research of the ever growing traffic picture and its natural laws of kinetics and inertia, and the science of our driver behavior more than 36 years .
Crashes are the number one cause of on-the-job fatalities.
The National Safety Council estimates that over 30% of all employee deaths are caused by crashes.
Each work-related employee fatality is estimated to cost the employer $110,500 in workers compensation alone, not including all the indirect costs associated with lost productivity.
Thank you for inquiring about our on the job, "Driver Safety Program."
Professor Ray has been a guest speaker on many occasions for driver safety and maintains an active roll on progressive driver safety programs.
Old School Methods Of Driver Programs Failing In Companies And Corporations In The United States
Training given to new employees by their own employers is usually informal, unprofessional and ineffective.
It may consist of only a few hours of instruction from an experienced vehicle operator; sometimes on the new employee's own time.
New vehicle operators might also ride with and observe older vehicle operators before assignment of their own runs.
Some companies give 1 to 2 days of classroom instruction covering general duties; including the operation and loading and unloading a van, bus, or truck.
Company policies and preparation of delivery forms and company records are also part of the training.
Vehicle Operators/sales workers also receive training on the various types of consumers they transport. However, its unfortunate that all the training does not cover professional driver behavior.
Most new company vehicle operators are assigned immediately to regular driving jobs
Some vehicle operators start as extra operators, substituting for regular ones who are ill or on vacation.
They receive a regular assignment when an opening occurs. Driver Safety is overlooked and the future of the company and the safety of the company's workers and consumers is extremely jeopardized.
We offer a driver training program targeting your company's driver safety policy and company's vehicle operators geared towards preventing crashes. The vehicle operators learn to maneuver vehicles on crowded streets and in highway traffic more effectively. They also learn different techniques that have been tested and work in preventing crashes over the years.
Maybe then can we start calling them Drivers!
